JW's arrive unannounced at someone's door and expect that person to question everything thing they have ever believed in, turn their backs on families, friends and tradition based on whatever their current beliefs are at that moment. JW's think this is normal and wonder why millions aren't lining up outside kingdom halls.

Ask any JW a simple, honest question that involves them questioning anything to do with their beliefs and they can't handle it and feel the need to label you as a goat or apostate

there are 1/2 of the jehovah’s witnesses that there were 30 years ago in my area.

some have left but i think that many have died and none of their kids stayed being jehovah’s witnesses.

7 congregations have been dissolved over the years.

It may be lighter than before but the GB seem to have more control than ever. Try openly questioning them and see how light it really is.

I admit that the social aspect is one thing I sometimes miss but the reality is that you can make friends in a lot of places. Making friends in non-religious groups is probably more real because of genuine shared interests- not forced interests.

Having lived for more than a few decades now I can honestly say that friends are over-rated. My opinion is that it's better to have a few acquaintances that don't intrude in your life but you can count on.

When the die-hards/Boomers are gone I think the JW religion is pretty much done and will deserve to join the list of defunct American religions.

I watched a few zoom meetings during covid just out of curiosity. I think the org has already forgotten about the boomers. It has moved on and left most of them scratching their heads.

The reason why JW's dont like to engage in converstion is because I really dont think any of them can explain the non-sensical changes of the last 20 years. Anyone with some functioning brain cells should be embarassed to be a JW.

i swear, you can't make this shit up!

for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.

" of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

Not sure I agree that they should even wear 'above average' suits in their roles as GB members. They are supposed to be humble, discreet men and their clothing should reflect that. These guys dress like princes.

I've seen old photos of Fred Franz in the office at Bethel and he looked like he just walked in from yard work with his checkered shirt. One of the suits Fleegle wore recently looked like a crushed green velvet - tailor cut affair.

It's actually sickening if it's money from donations that pay for it. If it's their own money, they need to show some restraint.

But then again 'Judge' Rutherford dressed and acted like Daddy Warbucks, so there is a precedent for them to follow.

“firstborn” and “creation” sit side by side, and in greek, that second word is “ktisis,” which means the physical stuff—trees, stars, you name it.

Theres something about 'walk-up' confrontations to JW's that irritate me.

Its not that I feel sorry for the JW's but almost always its the same conclusion. The JW tunes out, their brain becomes zombified and the complete lack of interest they have in debating is obvious.

There is something really un-satisfying watching them feebly defend their views. Its almost like they know they are beaten before they even start. For the sheer amount of propaganda they swallow, you would think they would put up more of a fight.

I despise the blood policy of the JW's. Not only has it become confusing, this case is a good example of how a one size fits all approach does not work on an international level when it comes to health policies.

What I really hate though, is the unnecessary pressure it puts on well-meaning and dedicated hospital staff.

What I really, really hate are the lies made by the JW spokeperson that 'they dont offer medical guidance', when they are putting peoples lives at risk by doing exactly that.
